Sustainability + SLAB LAB

Compostable, sustainable packaging is used for SLAB LAB candles

To make sure that our candles are gentle on the environment, they have been made using a coconut and rapeseed wax. Candles can be sometimes made from paraffin wax which is derived from petroleum, coal or oil shale and therefore it is not particularly eco-friendly.

For the wax, the rapeseed is sourced from Europe, whilst the majority of the coconut used in the wax comes from small holder farmers in the Philippines or Indonesia. The supplier of the coconut wax is pioneering a programme to train farmers on sustainable coconut agricultural practices. The wax is free from paraffin, palm and beeswax.

The fragrances in our candles are exclusive to SLAB LAB. They are made using a blend of essential oils and synthetic fragrances. Every fragrance we have for sale is paraben, phthalate and paraffin free.
The candles are packaged in SLAB LAB boxes that have been printed using a base made of soy or vegetable oil, instead of petroleum. The boxes are made from paper pulp that’s sourced from responsibly managed forests and mills. The packaging is biodegradable and compostable.
Your candle will arrive surrounded by void fill. The void fill that we use is made from GM free starch and is completely biodegradable. To make it disappear, you just run it under the tap.
SLAB LAB candles are vegan friendly and cruelty free. This means that from the stickers to the wax, no animals have been hurt in the process of making this product.
